Post 2 of the Paul Allen story - How we met!

How we met...

When asked by US customs how we met, we nearly got into a tricky situation....

Paul said we were friends of a friend...

Faye said we met in a bar....

Both are true, but try telling that to a hardcore american with a gun somewhere near to him..

We met in Jongleurs in Southampton, upstairs after the comedy show when they tidy away the chairs and call it a nightclub, which is where most of our Southampton friends seem to have met!

Paul was very insistent that he would take Faye out for dinner. He clearly knew the way to her heart!

Part 3 of the Paul Allen story - Phew!

Surprise!!!!

After a week from hell : -

- Moving houses from Birmingham and Southampton to Windsor

- Paul being completely surprised by all of the 'stuff' that Faye has managed to accumulate over the years

- Faye being stunned by the number of work shirts Paul really has

- Faye's crashing (ROLLING) a van on the M40 and shutting it for an hour whilst the air ambulance arrived

- Paul having to watch Faye's accident in his mirror

- Faye moving jobs

- Paul moving jobs

- Faye hitting 30

- Paul putting up with all of the above

......Paul promised a surprise trip to Wales on an activity holiday.

Funny, Faye didn't clock that you can't get to Wales via Gatwick, but she secretly had bets on Venice.

What transpired (luckily - can you imagine adventure activities in high heels?) was the unexpected heat and beauty of Venice and a very big question being asked by a surprisingly sober Paul.

After a couple of failed attempts -

1) which could have happened on a gondola but we decided not to (too shaky!)

2) the second which was going to be on a bridge (Faye could not understand why in heaven's name Paul was getting so annoyed with another couple on the particular bridge he had chosen...there are many bridges in Venice and many couples!)

3) it was third time lucky in St Mark's Square!!! and miraculously no rose-sellers nor musicians noticed!

Paul bought Faye the most beautiful necklace to pop the question with, so that we could choose the ring together and then we did the proper thing and went to Harry's bar for Bellinis. Yum Yum.

Phew!

Re: Important Information on Paul Allen - http://www.fayeandpaul.com

Apologies for the actual link being removed from the Home Page - a letter from Mr Allen's solicitor suggested it might be wise to do so...... the big girl.

Have we damaged our chances of an invite to the reception?!
