Otterbourne Football Club History

The football club was founded in 1962 as North End Old Boys, changing its name to Otterbourne in 1986, when the club moved to Oakwood Park. The club won the Southampton Premier League in the same year, gaining promotion to the Clubsaver Hampshire League.

During the 91/92 season the club reached the final of the Hampshire Intermediate Cup. A unique achievement followed during the 95/96 season when the club won both the Southampton Senior Cup and the Trophyman League Cup. Season 96/97 saw defeat in the semi-final of the Southampton Senior Cup and, despite a late run, the club was ‘pipped’ by one place for promotion to Hants Division 1. The reserves consolidated their position in the Southampton Premier, and the “A” team achieved success. They both reached the semi-final of the Southampton Junior “A” Cup and were runners-up in Junior Division 3, gaining promotion for this season to Division 1.

During the 2004/2005 season the 1st Team reached the Hampshire Intermediate Cup for the 3rd time in their history finishing Runners-Up.

At the start of the 2007/2008 season Otterbourne 1st Team joined the newly formed Hants Premier League finishing Runners-Up and missing out on the Title by a single point. That same season the 1st Team also reached the semi-finals of the Soton Senior Cup and the HPFL League Cup, as well as the final of the Andover Cup losing on penalties after extra time.

In 2009 / 10 Otterbourne 1st Team won the Andover Cup and the 2nd Team won the Hants Combination Cup.
