Match Summary:
A Game of 2 Halves….
The first 45 saw Otterbourne dominate. With hardly any changes from the battling performance against Hedge End, the team looked confident and played the slope to their advantage. K. Gleeson went close with a fizzing drive, just tipped round the post. The midfield of Williams, Len and Snider was governing and the defence despite a few half chances for Braishfield never really looked threatened. The pressure from Len cutting into the box resulted in a penalty which the gaffer stepped up to take and add to his tally this season. Boooooom! the ball rocketed off the post and alert Tilly ran to the ball was taken down by the Braishfield Keeper. The second penalty in less than 30 seconds. This time it was dispatched and Otterbourne went into half time again 1-0 up.
The second half wasn’t one of Otterbourne’s finest. Braishfield stepped up their line and in true Wimbledon style, launched the long ball over the midfield for their strikers to latch on to. Eventually the defence were broken and Braishfield equalised. The Home team looked rejuvenated after their half time Marlboro lights and Otterbourne didnt look as dominant as the first half. Wilder continued to be tested and after 65mins Zac Morris wasn’t saved by the bell, but instead screeched at the ref after fouling in the box. Braishfield scored the resulting penalty and went on to take all 3 points.
Just confirm – the boot was found….
