In our away trip to table topping Clanfield we started the match slowly defending up the hill on their slopping pitch.
We could have taken the lead on 7 minutes when Will put Westy clean through but unfortunately for us he shot high over the bar.
On 10 minutes Clanfield took the lead when a cross from the left found an unmarked player at the far post to score from close range.
Abbs then made a neat run beating 2 players before crossing the ball into the box where a Clanfield defender handled the ball, Jamie calmly slotted home the resulting penalty to make it 1-1.
On the 30 minute mark Clanfield retook the lead after their winger had a couple of lucky bounces to fire the ball in off our keeper from a tight angle.
5 minutes later we should have equalised when Jamie ran through and with teammates either side of him in great positions he greedily shot from 20 yards which went high over the crossbar.
We were then punished 30 seconds later when they scored their 3rd goal; we failed to close the ball down on the edge of our box for their winger to score with the aid of a slight deflection.
The 2nd half started with us pressing to get back into the game. Gully went close with a header after a succession of corners.
Clanfield then had a player sent off with 15 minutes to go, but we failed to create much even with the extra player.
