Line Up: Flood, Willson, Gallant, Jannaway, Kelly, Tomlinson, Gleeson, Bedford, Beasley, Miczarek, Luffman Subs: Abbey, Clark, A Kerr
In the first half Queens Keep played the better football and should have taken the lead when one of their midfielders had the whole goal to hit and somehow screwed it wide, then the Otters keeper Jamie Flood pulled off a point blank save to keep us in it.
Queens Keep had a succession of corners and one
of their defenders rose un-challenged at one of them
to head wide. Near the end of the half Tom Milzarek
fed the ball to Jim Bedford it took a bobble but he
managed to fire it past the keeper to put Otterbourne 1
up.
In the second half QK kept playing good football and
early on worked an opening for one of their midfielders
to lash a 25yard shot past our keeper. It was all hands
to the pumps as they bombarded our goal but keeper
and defence of Gallant,Willson, JJ and Kelly stood
strong and we managed to get a breakaway which
Luffman received the ball rounded the keeper and
finished in the bottom corner.
Paul Tomlinson was replaced by Paul Clark due to injury and again QK came and hit the post from the clearance we broke away with Beasley feeding Luffman in the box to score with neat strike.
More QK pressure and John Janaway fed Tom Milzarek on the half way line, he skipped away from the closest defender and headed into the box with Luffman screaming for it to complete his hatrick Tom just calmly placed it around the keeper and into the far corner to put us 4 -1 up.
Luffman wasn’t to be denied and Janaway again fed the ball to him and as he outpaced the defence lashed an un-stoppable volley over the keeper to complete his hatrick.
They say footballs a funny old game and Queen’s Keep are the best side we have played so far and expect them to challenge at the business end of the season.
